Purple Crowned Fairy Wren - Linoprint
This is an original linoprint of a Purple-Crowned Fairy Wren.
Rowan was lucky enough to see one of these pretty wrens in the wild in the Mornington Wildlife Reserve up in the Kimberly region of Western Australia. They are very small and elusive and Rowan had to get up very early to go for a walk by the stream next to the Pandanus trees to catch a glimpse of their dawn activity.
The print has been made with multiple hand-carved blocks which have then been inked up with artist-quality ink. Paper is then laid over the blocks and hand-burnished before the print is pulled. Last details have been top-down stamped on carefully.
