A Banquet of Bogongs
'A Banquet of Bogongs' is an original linocut print.
The artist was inspired by the amazing Australian Bogong moth and the recent discovery they were a food source and a cause for celebration and meeting for Indigenous people in the Snowy Mountains area for thousands of years.
The print is made using multiple stamps that are carefully printed in layers over one another using oil-based inks onto acid-free paper.

Multi-plate printing is where each colour in a design gets its own separately carved block, all printed on top of each other in sequence to build up the final image. It requires careful registration to make sure everything lines up.

Rowan Sivyer is an Australian printmaker who is mostly inspired by native flora and fauna, patterns and food. She creates in a home-based studio in the vibrant Inner West of Sydney. Rowan is compelled to create daily, printing and carving most days.
