Billy - Original Linoprint of Australian flowers
A striking multi-plate linoprint capturing the simplicity of native Billy Buttons arranged in a s vase.
The bold graphic quality of this linocut technique and the use of bright primary colours celebrate these cheerful and iconic Australian flowers.
The print has been made by hand in the artist's Sydney-based home studio. The artist used a combination of techniques, including laying the paper over the carved blocks and pulling the background colours, and top-down block printing the vase and the individiual Billy Button flower heads.
The linoprint has been titled, dated and hand signed by the artist.
'Billy' is A4 size (21 x 29.7cm) which is ideal for putting straight into a pre-made frame. A little white space has been left around the design to allow for the artwork to go behind a mat frame if so desired.

Multi-Plate Lino Print
Multi-plate printing is where each colour in a design gets its own separately carved block, all printed on top of each other in sequence to build up the final image. It requires careful registration to make sure everything lines up.
Meet the Artist
Rowan Sivyer is an Australian printmaker who is mostly inspired by native flora and fauna, patterns and food. She creates in a home-based studio in the vibrant Inner West of Sydney. Rowan is compelled to create daily, printing and carving most days.
