Platypus - Australian Animal Linoprint
Oddity is an original linoprint of a platypus. What a fascinatingly odd creature the platypus is! A monotreme with poison-laced spurs and bioluminescence (Why? No-one knows!)
The print has been made with a hand-carved block which has then been inked up with artist-quality ink. Paper is then laid over the block and hand-burnished before the print is pulled. The platypus stamp is then carefully printed on top. This print would be perfect for up and coming zoologist!

Multi-Plate Lino Print
Multi-plate printing is where each colour in a design gets its own separately carved block, all printed on top of each other in sequence to build up the final image. It requires careful registration to make sure everything lines up.

Rowan Sivyer is an Australian printmaker who is mostly inspired by native flora and fauna, patterns and food. She creates in a home-based studio in the vibrant Inner West of Sydney. Rowan is compelled to create daily, printing and carving most days.
