Waratahs at the Kitchen Table is a 7-layer reduction print. It is a limited edition print of only 25. The print is representative of a happy memory of the artist visiting her mother and going to pick waratahs from a neighbour's plant and then sitting drawing them at the table while family members happily chatted and had a cup of tea. The woven runner on the table is a nod to Rowan's granny who was a talented maker. The reduction print process requires much preparation, skill and nerve! A reduction print starts with a single block that gets carved and printed in layers, with more rubber carved away before each new colour is added. The catch is that once you commit to the next layer, there is no going back because the block is permanently changed each time. Size: A3 (29.7 x 42 cm)

Reduction Lino Print

A reduction print starts with a single block that gets carved and printed in layers, with more rubber carved away before each new colour is added. The catch is that once you commit to the next layer, there is no going back because the block is permanently changed each time, which makes the whole process wonderfully nerve-wracking. The result is a richly layered, complex print that can never be exactly reproduced, making every edition truly limited.
