Wattlebird and Grevillea - Original Linoprint
Wattlebird and Grevillea is an original hand printed linoprint. Rowan loves Grevillea flowers and is forever taking photos of the flowering shrubs in the neighbourhood. And the birds love them! This print was made using multiple plates which are inked before paper is laid on them and the print pulled. The details of the bird and the flower are then carefully stamped on top. Multi-Plate Lino Print
Multi-plate printing is where each colour in a design gets its own separately carved block, all printed on top of each other in sequence to build up the final image. It requires careful registration to make sure everything lines up.

Rowan Sivyer is an Australian printmaker who is mostly inspired by native flora and fauna, patterns and food. She creates in a home-based studio in the vibrant Inner West of Sydney. Rowan is compelled to create daily, printing and carving most days.
