A couple of months ago I took Rowan’s fabric block printing workshop, and this time I was back diving into the colourful world of gelli printing.
It was such a fun, freeing and playful process. I think I’m slowly becoming what Rowan calls a “hobby hoarder”—collecting creative crafts that bring me so much joy (which I have to somehow create more space for in my studio 😂)
I brought along some pre-cut paper snowflakes to experiment with different ways of creating snow textures, but my favourite discovery of the day was using baby powder to create a dreamy nebula galaxy effect. We also had fun playing with leaves, flowers, string, rubber bands, bubble wrap and stencils - you can print with almost anything!
A huge thank you to Rowan for another inspiring workshop. This is something I did just for me and it was such a treat. If you’ve been thinking about trying one of her classes, I can highly recommend them. You’ll leave with new techniques, lots of ideas, and an opportunity to just play and be creative for the love of it.
