STAMP MAINTENANCE

  • The stamp comes unmounted. The rubber is a quarter inch thick and can be held comfortably to stamp with.
  • To clean your stamps I recommend gently wiping with vegetable oil (if using oil-based inks) or soap and water (if using water-based inks).
  • DO NOT SCRUB as this may damage the fine lines of the stamp.
  • The stamp should last for years as long as it is stored carefully with nothing on top of it which could comprise the fine details of the stamp.

All of my stamps are made by hand by me in a smoke-free studio.

 

    • This stamp comes unmounted. The stamp is thick enough to be comfortably held and stamped with.

    • The stamp is durable and, if looked after well, should not crack or crumble.

    • If you clean your stamp between use (I do not bother myself), please DO NOT SCRUB as this may damage the fine lines of the stamp. If you use oil-based ink, clean your stamp with a little vegetable oil. If you use water-based ink, you can gently clean your stamp with water and a little soap.

Behind The Scenes

Rowan is committed to slow art and appreciates the joy and satisfaction that comes with working by hand. Rowan prints all of her original linoprints in the front sunroom of her house in Lewisham, Sydney. It is a small space (no room for a big press), but a happy and productive one, proving that you don't need a lot of room to make beautiful art.
