'Bento' is a linoprint. This print measures 21 cm x 21cm (A4).
Lino-printing is a form of relief printing. First, a block (made out of lino or rubber) is carved to produce an image. Then the block is inked and paper is laid over it. After pressure is applied by hand, the paper is pulled and the print is made! It is a manual, labour-intensive process which can result in slight variations from print to print. Being able to see the hand of the maker is a large part of the beauty of these hand made items and sets them apart from mass-produced artworks.
Each print is signed and packaged in a clear cellophane sleeve complete with protective backing board with an information sheet explaining who the artist is and the process used to create the print.
