One of Sydney’s favourite styles of building, the terrace house has so much history and personality. Terraces were built in Sydney to reflect Georgian-era houses in Europe. While they have gone through periods of dereliction, terrace houses are now sought after and much beloved.
I have lived in Paddington and in the Inner West where there are many terraces and I have always enjoyed observing the little differences between them, whether it is a difference in the motifs used in the wrought iron fencing, the different composition of windows and doors or the pot plants used to decorate the balcony.
This is a relief print or a block print. It is also called a lino print but I don't use lino! I carved the terrace houses into a rubber block and then printed them by rolling ink onto the block and laying paper over it.
This print was produced with high quality oil-based Caligo ink on beautiful Zerkal medieval laid paper.
The print paper is 21 x 29.7 cm. Comes dated and signed with my signature seal.
The print comes in a protective cellophane sleeve, backed by cardboard, unframed. It will be sent to you in a rigid mailer.
