This romantic set of Australian native botanicals would make a wonderful gift for a nature lover, a gardener or an Australian overseas as a reminder of home.
These prints have been produced using lino plates carved by hand. I do not use a press. Each print was made by inking the plate with high quality ink and then laying rice paper over the plate and pressing the paper by hand or with a barren. This is difficult as one tiny shift of the paper or a slight smudge ruins the print. It takes a lot of pressure and patience and care.
After several days of drying, I painted each print individually with gouache paint in order to give the print a vintage feel.
Each print is signed and numbered on the front. Each print is one of a limited edition of 40.
Each print in the set measures 20 cm x 20 cm. The set comes unframed. The prints are supported with cardboard backing and protected in a cellophane sleeve. They will be posted in a rigid mailer.
