🔹This print is called "Polar Bear" and is a giclée fine art print. The original is painted with ink and watercolour and was painted as part of a project that I completed in 2016 - 100 days of watercolours. As part of the 100 days I painted 10 critically endangered animals.
🔹I have always loved polar bears since I was little and visited Auckland Zoo. The bear there was not white but yellow and it certainly seemed a little sad in the enclosure in which it was living. The grace it showed when it swam however completely won me over. Polar bears are magnificent creatures, so large and fierce but also fluid when they are in the water. It is the creature that also embodies the universal problem that is global warming and it saddens me that the polar bear may not be long for this world.
🔹 This print has been printed with archival inks on beautiful acid free textured paper. It is extremely age resistant. The print has been produced by a local printing company which I use in order to get the best quality results. Indeed, you can hardly tell the difference between the original and the print.
